I have edited the previous Album covers to incorporate our new artist name and now I feel that they are finished and ready to be shown to my team.
Front CD Cover:
Also I created a promotional poster, promoting our artists new album.
Screen Shots of me Editing CD Digipack Drafts
This is my first draft of the CD Front Cover, I chose to do it in Black and White because I feel that it tells us about how the artist views the world we live in. Black and White with no real colour.
I went onto Da Font to look for a font which represents our artists new name 'Illusion' I felt that this font (Image above) is a good style for our new artist. This is as the font is cracked and broken which is how our artist feels about society and the Government. Also maybe he comes from a broken home so the font also could tell us something about the artist.
For the second draft of the CD Cover I decided to change the colour of the CD to Red. This was as I prefered to see the CD cover in Red so it was a personal choice.
For the second draft of the Album Cover, I played around with some of the effects you could add to the picture and I chose the Charcoal affect to use for the album cover as it gives the album cover more of a gritty run down feel as some of the image is blurry, as if it was worn down.
I also used the same Charcoal effect with the CD Back cover as I wanted to carry on the theme throughout.
My drafts for our CD Digipack
Throughout the designing of the Digipack I have had a specific theme running through my head which is continued through each draft. The theme is urban and gritty. This is to emphasize the background and location in which the artist has had to grow up in. This is also portrayed through the choice of songs we have chosen for the album. All of the songs give a message about the artist. We feel this is so you know alot about the artists background and childhood growing up in run down estates. This is so you can either relate to the artist as he has had to work hard to get where he is today.
I liked this CD cover as it is plain and simple and gets straight to the point, much like our artist. It also like our other drafts gives you the image of an urban artist. I do not know whether I like it in Black and White or whether I prefer it to be in colour.

These are the first ideas for our CD covers.
After I had done two drafts of my CD covers. We all decided to change our artist name to Illusion. This means that I will have to change the artist name on the CD covers to Illusion instead of Silent Witness. I prefer the name Illusion to Silent Witness as it gives the artist more of a mystery about him. Although Silent Witness also gives you an idea of a person without a face or identity.
For the second CD Cover draft I decided to change the colour of the image to Red, I prefer this colour to any other colour as it makes the CD stand out alot more that the Album. Also you do not get many CD covers with colours like Red on them so it is an original cover.
My First Poster Idea
For my first idea for a poster I used a picture I took when I went to New York, it was originally a day time photo so I put the photo into photo shop and edited the brightness and contrast so it looked like a night time photo, I then added text to the bottom of the screen.
I wanted to use a skyline because the genre of music is dub step and it has a city feel to it.
Artist Update 16-11-2011
We had a group discussion and decided to change our artist's stage name to ILLUSION, we thought that Silent Witness wasn't suitable after much thought as it didn't represent our artist's background. We chose illusion as it shows that our artist has different sides to his character, despite being from a low social status and background he's still politically and socially conscious. In doing so we also thought that a new name meant a new logo that was symbolic. The group then brainstormed ideas and came up with a logo concept for our artist.

My Views On The Music Video So Far
I went through what we have already edited of the music video.
I thought there was a good flow to it and you could tell what the story line was about.
I think we could film the scene again where the girl is walking down the street and stops to drink the alcohol she has because the lighting is a bit to dark and you cant really see her or she could wear something which makes her more visible so you don't just think you are watching a black screen.
The film and music for our music video work well together, the music isn't out of time with the film so this gives it a better feel to it when you watch it and it doesn't just make you think you have to concentrate on just one part of it.
