Tom Dawson's Filming Action Plan 19/10/11

I have told my group and the people in which I need to be in our music video and I have gone and decided that we are going to start filming tonight as we need it to start being filmed. I also have planned when to film the "House party" scene for halloween because a friend of mine is having a party so it would be ideal for us to film then.
So that will be the beginning of the video and also the end that has been taken care of. The middle which is mainly the main character walking around drinking can be done at a relevant time, I am trying to get it done this weekend. So I can edit the beginning and middle before I film the end so that it is all ready at the same time. Also with the beginning and middle edited to the music I can also roughly estimate how much shot time i need to add so that it all fits with the song.

These are the current tasks I'm in the process of completing.


  • Edit more photos from artist photo-shoot using photoshop
  • Detail then analyse changes made to modified photos.
  • Create a presentation on Skream.
  • Create commentary analysing "Shot Yourself In the Foot again" video and lyrics.
  • Create concept art for suitable locations.
  • Create video presentation on Interim Assessment.
  • Finalise animatic video.

1.     Gather actors, props, locations for music video
2.     Post more on the blog (add more posts don’t just add onto old ones)
3.     Finalise action plan for filming

Psychographic Profile of our typical audience member

Our typical audience member is between the age of 16 and 25 our main audience is of male gender but we also have some female audience members.
Most of our audience has jobs whether it is part time or full time, only a small margin would be unemployed or other.
Leisure interests for our audience members would be going out for a drink with friends whether that be at a pub or go out to a night club, most of them lead an exciting night life compared with their day to day activities.
Our audiences typical method of consuming media is through and recent technology e.g. Smart Phones, laptops, I-Pods etc.

Uses and gratifications theory places more focus on the consumer or audience instead of the actual message itself, by asking "What people do with media?" instead of "What media does to people?"
It tells us how the audience is responsible for choosing the media they consume to meet their specific needs.
A gratification is what the audience would get out of listening to our song and watching our music video. These are example like Diversion where the audience can escape from their problems when listening to this song or they can relate to the problems conveyed from the song lyrics and video.
The audience also imerses themselves in the song and the lyrics as a sort of a comfort.

I felt concept art will show what our character represents, the first image shows that our artists constantly cares about his music, he's always trying to improve or build on what he's produced. However it can also be interpreted that the headphones could be a metaphor for freedom, he could be trying to drown out the constant issues of life.
