- Started drawing out the storyboard for our music video
- Ossie Sketched out some of the storyboard images to make them more artistic and more detailed
- Carried on drawing out the storyboard sheets for our music video
- I also did a write up of our storyboard and what we expected it to contain, this would help me when it came to the later stages of making the storyboard as I didnt need all the storyboard sheets to carry on drawing the storyboards as I could just refer to my write up. This allowed Ossie more time to do his sketches of my storyboards.
- I finished my drawings for our Storyboard
- We also decided that we would use some of Ossies sketches he had done previously for our Album cover and promotional images, as these would allow us to have a mix of real photos and drawings
- We also as a group went out and took some promotional images of our artist (Ossie) I gave ideas of where would be good places to shoot, Ossie was our artist and Reanna helped by taking the photos of Ossie and she has the most experience with a camera. While we was out we also looked at possibly locations for our music video and Reanna made a short video showing a panoramic view of a possible location.
- I went onto the blog and updated our CD/Dvd digipack by adding some of the things me and Ossie have been doing over the past few days: http://tomossiemedia.blogspot.com/2011/06/cddvd-digipack.html
- I also updated my production diary so I know what I have done and also what needs to be done.
- I have also added some of our storyboards to our Music video page. I will also add the animatic drafts to the music video page when they have been completed.

- I researched graffiti fonts for our album cover.
- I then printscreened the fonts I liked and analysed them saying why I chose them.

- Today I have created my own Filming Action Plan
- I also have got together some of the props and actors/actresses and locations we need for our filming later on today.
- I am yet to finish my Interim task as I tried to use Voki to complete the last couple of points but it was being uncoorperative with me so I gave up and so instead I am going to make a small video of me talking to the camera and going over the points, why I did this?, etc etc

Genre Research
Genre Research
Genres are formed by conventions that change over time as new genres are invented and the use of old ones are discontinued. Often, works fit into multiple genres by way of borrowing and recombining these conventions.
RCG
Before we decided on what genre our music was going to be we had to research common music genre's and find out about their Characteristics, Conventions and their genre History.
Rock:
Characterisitcs of Rock bands/artists:
- Long hair
- Dark clothing
- Usually older artists than other genres
Conventions of Rock music videos:

History of Rock:
- Chuck Berry 1955
- Elvis presley was the main Icon of Rock and Roll and was seen as the person to which other bands based their music on
- This led to the formation of bands such as The Rolling Stones and The Beatles to be formed who were a great success throughout the sixties
- The Rock genre started out as a way of rebelling against the authorities and that ideology is still used today in many of the Rock music videos today.
- The Rock genre went through many changes throughout its history from the likes of Elvis and his Blues influenced Rock to the now popular heavy rock which consists of heavy drum beats and loud lyrics.
An Example of a typical Rock song is: The Darkness 'I believe in a thing called love'

- Earliest release was back in 1998 when Dubstep was more Dub remixes of garage tracks

An example of a Dubstep song is: DJ Fresh 'Louder'

The influence of dubstep on more commercial or popular genres can be identified as far back as 2007, with artists such as Britney Spears using dubstep sounds; critics observed a dubstep influence in the song "Freakshow", from the 2007 album Blackout, which Tom Ewing described as "built around the 'wobbler' effect that's a genre standby." Benga and Coki's single "Night" still continued to be a popular track on the UK dance chart more than a year after its release in late 2007, still ranking in the top five at the start of April 2008 on Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 dance chart list.
However the year 2009 saw the dubstep sound gaining further worldwide recognition, often through the assimilation of elements of the sound into other genres, in a manner similar to drum and bass before it. At the start of the year, UK electronic duo La Roux put their single "In for the Kill" in the remix hands of Skream. They then gave remix duties of "I'm Not Your Toy" to Nero and then again with their single "Bulletproof" being remixed by Zinc. The same year, London producer Silkie released an influential album City Limits Vol. 1 on the Deep Medi label, using 70s funk and soul reference points, a departure from the familiar strains of dub and UK garage. The sound also continued to interest the mainstream press with key articles in magazines like Interview, New York, and The Wire, which featured producer Kode9 on its May 2009 cover. XLR8R put Joker on the cover of its December 2009 issue. By the end of 2009, The New York Times, XLR8R, NME and The Sunday Times all reviewed the genre.
Throughout 2010 and 2011, dubstep was beginning to hit the pop charts, with "I Need Air" by Magnetic Man reaching number 10 in the UK singles chart. This presented a turning point in the popularity of mainstream dubstep amongst UK listeners as it was placed on rotation on BBC Radio 1. "Katy On a Mission" by Katy B (produced by Benga) followed, debuting at number 5 in the UK singles chart, and stayed in the top 10 for five more weeks. In February 2011, Chase & Status's second album No More Idols reached No.2 in the UK album chart. On May 1, 2011, Nero's third single "Guilt" from their album reached number 8 in the Official UK Singles Chart, their highest placing single to date.In July 2011 DJ Fresh - "Louder" hit number 1 in the UK singles chart.
In April 2011, "dubbox", the industry's first application designed for the mobile creation of dubstep music, was released for the iPhone and reached the Top 25 Best Selling Music Apps in the UK in its first week.
In a move foreshadowed by endorsements of the sound from R&B, hip-hop and recently, mainstream figures such as Rihanna, or Public Enemy's Hank Shocklee, Snoop Dogg collaborated with dubstep producers Chase & Status, providing a vocal for their 'underground anthem' "Eastern Jam". The 2011 Britney Spears track "Hold It Against Me" was also responsible for promoting dubstep tropes within a mainstream pop audience. Rihanna's Rated R album released such content the very year dubstep saw a spike, containing 3 dubstep tracks. Such events propelled the genre into the biggest radio markets overnight, with considerable airplay.

Process of an music album:
The first step in the music album production process is to record the music. The process of recording the music for the album is called engineering. Recording engineers use recording equipment to get a good audio feed for processing into a album. A good recording engineer will have high-quality recording equipment.
After an album's audio is recorded, the next step is to mix the audio into songs. Mixing the audio involves arranging an album's individual songs so they each have the desired sound. During mixing, the audio engineer may use plug-ins or edit the sound so it sounds clean and free of noise or digital distortions.
- After the individual songs are mixed, they go through the mastering process, which is when the audio is turned into an album. Audio masterers review the album as a whole, making sure that the sound levels are even and making minor adjustments to the final sound of the album.
- In a professional album production company, an artist is often brought in to create album art for the recording. Design templates for CD cases and sleeves can be found for many computer art programs.
- Replication is the professional term for the process of putting the album on a CD and combining it with album art and a case to come up with a final product.
- Promotion is a large part of the album production process. Promotion is often under the delegation of the producer. Band members and artists can benefit from doing their own promotion.
